Kyrie Irving Trades His Balls for Bars?
Off the court and into the studio, Celtics point guard, Kyrie Irving, released his slam dunk single for the Uncle Drew soundtrack titled, “Ridiculous.” NBA All-Star, Kyrie Irving is making his acting and music debut with the release of the feature film, Uncle Drew, that is scheduled to hit theaters on June 29, 2018.
The film reunites NBA stars Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie on the court with Kyrie Irving as “Uncle Drew,” as they compete in the Rucker Classic streetball tournament in Harlem for bragging rights and the ultimate cash prize. These legendary athletes prove that they can still bring it on and off the court as they showcase that basketball isn’t their only talents. The film also features, comedian, Tiffany Haddish, who is back on the big screen with her starring role, along with Mike Epps, J.B Smoove and many other familiar faces.
As for the Boston Celtics point guard, talent is his middle name. Irving has always been a man of hardwork and dedication. In the 2011 NBA draft, Irving was the first overall pick and was named Rookie of the Year after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Outside of Irving’s 2016 NBA Championship win with the Cavaliers, he is also a five time NBA All Star. As a star on the basketball court, and now starring as “Uncle Drew,” Fans are wondering... “why would Irving want a shot at being a R&B star?” Though we are not quite sure if we can expect more music from Irving, the release of his single is certainly only the beginning for this multi-talented star.
